On 5th July 2023, the Aneurin Bevan Society celebrated the 75th anniversary of the NHS with its 2023 Memorial Lecture in Parliament.
Professor Sir Michael Marmot gave opening remarks followed by a panel discussion with David Brindle, Sara Gorton and Professor Laura Serrant, chaired by Nick Thomas-Symonds MP.
Sir Michael’s remarks echoed the themes of his recent Tribune magazine interview on the future of the NHS and Professor Serrant helped recognise the enormous contribution of the Windrush generation to the NHS with a recitation of her poem, You Called… And We Came.
